Archeage 2 0 update information

,
So if you have not already seen it the patch information has been released in Korea about the new archeage 2.0 update. And while for us North American players this patch might be a long ways off we always love having information and gossip about new patches. I havent done any recent Korean translations for anything so I figured might be a good idea to translate some of the information for this patch. Like always anything posted is always subject to change and its likely some information may or not be finallized for release. And its also possible I might make mistakes so your welcome to help if you know Korean and are better at translation then me just leave me a comment and Ill update the information accordingly.

Battle information:

So basicly what I gathered fromj the information is that the costs of declaring against other guilds increases the more guilds are declaring at one time. Im not sure exactly how you get paired with another guild but I would imagine they must be in the system for it to work. Like you pay the entry fee then it pairs your guild up with another guild. Not sure how it determines who get paired with who.

Guild Level up information:

So as you actually win guild vs guild battles the guild seems to level up based off of winning and theres a cooldown on battles of 2 hours to prevent people from just declaring over and over.  You have combat sprint speed, increases to experience, monster loot increased, reduction of casting speeds for the first 4 ranks since some of the translation comes out weird in Korean I could be wrong I think rank 1 might be combat speed possibly. Honor point increases, speed for gliding, faster speed for casting ships and vehicles, resurrect sickness decreased. So we have some pretty interesting benefits for actually participating. Kinda like the whole idea that you have to participate in guild battles to actually level the guild up. Not sure whether you need to keep winning to maintain these since not much information was provided.

Contribution:

So theres quests that also need to be completed for the guild vs guild and you need to win to actually get these contibution points. Quite abit of this one wasnt really making sense translation wise but the main thing is complete the gvg get points buy items from the shop. I didnt bother translating the item names because its likely they will change when its released on the american servers.

More information will be provided below once translated:

Making Money Guide Archeage Patch 2 0

,
So if your like me you might be wondering with all the new updates what should I be doing to make money. The answer is actually pretty simple. And today Im gonna go over some of the hot new ways to make money that most people might have not realized.

One of the big new ways is crafting. If you havent already noticed material prices have increased by quite a large amount. We are talking about base mats such as leather, cloth, iron, stone. The reason for this comes down to the new guild related dailes. People need these dailies to level their guilds earn prestige points and farm for leadership. These people are often lazy and willing to spend large amounts of money buying simple things like fabric. A perfect example today on my server the quest for the donation in Austera was 100 fabric price of fabric was 1g 99 silver each. I was thinking theres no way anyone would actually buy it for that much just because of the event but sure enough I was able to sell a stack of them which is almost 200g. If you can find an armory you can speed craft the stuff and slowly sell some through out the day and make a fortune. Each day for each type of material.

Another great way to make money is farming coin purses in library. The radiant trees in auroria got nerfed its kinda not as good to farm them but floor 3 coin purses give really good gold for the labor ontop of that the weapons that drop like candy break down to crystals and sometimes essences much higher money from something like this.

Another really surprising place to farm which is worthy is sea bugs in the ocean or south of fredrich dahuta area because you can get ship bags off the monsters. While this doesnt make tons of money it does allow you to take the small 3 to 4g ship scrolls craft ship parts regrade them decently and turn them into a 400 to 800g profit easily. Rather then trying to sell them on the auction house figure that if you regrade some ezan cutter sails to unique you can make 600 to 1k gold depending on the going rate on your server. You can also do this buying ship comp scrolls but that is more of a gamble because if it doesnt sell youll kick yourself and you have to watch the prices.

Last worthy thing to do is running packs out of Hellswamp especially the new fertilizer pack. Why do you ask? Because even though fertilizer packs dont trade for gilda they are amazingly cheap to make in comparison to peanut packs and price wise they make around 20 charcoal per turn in which is an amazing amount for such an easy run from Hellswamp to Halcyona and out to Austera. If you can find one set to public you dont even need to own land in the area to use it. Meaning you can make packs with higher turnin rate then the crafter and fellowship.

Archeage Release date Announced

,
Today at PAX the release date for Archeage was set for September 16th. The head start will be set to the 12th. And the open beta starts the 4th of September. The alpha servers will not be accessable during the open beta period meaning that all players of the alpha servers will not be able to access Omega or Alpha server during open beta. The server names are as follows:

North America
Aranzeb
Naima
Kyrios
Ollo
Tahyang
Salphira

Europe
Shatigon
Kyprosa
Eanna
Dahuta

Still unsure whether they will be adjusting some of the drop rates on certain items before launch but aside from problems with that the game is really well polished. If you play during the open beta you will have 8 days to decide whether the game is really good and whether you want to buy the beta pack to get into the headstart. But at the very least if you have not gotten an invite to the beta as of yet now is the chance to get in and test it out for yourself!

If your going to play and interested in playing with my guild your welcome too but we will most likely be the same kind of guild like alpha and kill allied factions for packs and most likely future pirates. ?

Trade Hack Archeage Warning

,
So I figured this would actually be a great topic especially cause everyone knows how frustrating it is to get scammed out of items in a mmorpg especially when this specific warning Im going to be posting about is actually a hack which people do to the trade window. And it go against the terms of service for Archeage. So basicly Archeage has told everyone if you get scammed by just normal scamming game mechanics its okay.

But hackers have found a method to modify the amount of money being traded after the money not only has been locked in but after you hit the trade button then they modify the amount. So breaking it down it happens like the following:

  • You put a Thunderstruck tree in the window...

  • They put in 200g for the tree...

  • Both of you confirm the amount...

  • You can see the 200g confirmed and still reading 200g so you hit the trade button.

  • You recieve 2g and give them a thunderstruck tree.

I actually had someone send me a screenshot cause he got scammed the other day on Ollo server.

So tips to avoid getting scammed while I will say the best way is not selling stuff via the trade window or only trade for other items we cannot be sure what exactly is the extent that they can do with this type of hack. So I would say its better to trade with people who are trusted this means avoid the following people:

  • Low level players
  • Guildless players
  • Ones with bot or scammer names
But that also doesnt mean you shouldnt leave out the possiblity that people will do it with a higher level character or add it to a guild just to exploit. Keep in mind these people will do anything to steal from other players. And they dont care about reputation. Also seeing how Trion has handled many of the hacks currently means you should totally be aware of scamming and people hacking. Cause if they perform these types of things on you its possible they could get your account flagged and banned when you did nothing wrong.

Someone decided to actually post the hack in which people are using to exploit people along with the method. So out of hoping this gets fixed soon I thought I would share more of it.

"Hi,
Thanks for buying this plugin, i hope you enjoy it as much as i did.

What you need to do now :
Place the "Source" - folder into your Archebuddy Plugins folder.
Start up Archebuddy and log into the game.
Now heres my scamming method :
Ill write in faction chat that im buying 5 workers compensation potions for 29g each, on my server theyre atm on the auctionhouse for 27g and 60silver.
when you do this, a person will think that youre stupid and that youre going to pay much more for something that is cheaper on the auctionhouse, so theyll be in a hurry
to sell you that item, in this case the workers compensation potions.
**Before you proceed with the following step, buy 10 Apples from the auctionhouse, youll need it. its explained further down the line why you need it.**
What you do now is, in archebuddy, open the "Plugin Editor"
- Press "Open File"
go to the "Source" folder and click on the tradescam.cs file
Now you move to the line 35 where you see this :      PutGoldInTrade(1);
that 1 stands for 1 copper, now let me give you a rundown on what 10g, or a 100g would be :
15000000 = 1500g
10000000 = 1000g
 1500000 =  150g
 1000000 =  100g
  900000 =   90g
  100000 =   10g
   10000 =    1g
    1000 =    10s
      10 =    10copper
       1 =     1copper
now, to scam that guy selling 5 workers compensation to us for 29g each we need to put in 145g into the trade, that means well edit the line
"PutGoldInTrade(1); " into "PutGoldInTrade(1450000);
now you press Compile, and when the guy trades you, the code will put in 10apples in, take em out and then put the gold in (**THIS NEEDS TO BE DONE SO THE TRADE IS BUGGED AND THE TRADE WONT BE CANCELLED WHEN THE SCRIPT REMOVES THE GOLD!!**)
also youll NEVER see the gold being put in from your view (as you may have noticed in the video), so always DOUBLE check when you edit and compile the script!

Good luck and enjoy!"

       }

       public static string GetPluginDescription()

       }

       //Call on plugin start
         public void PluginRun()
       {
           TradeInfo currenttrade = me.tradeInfo;
           PutItemInTrade("Apple",10);
          LockTrade(true);
          RemoveItemFromTrade("Apple");
          PutGoldInTrade(1);

            while (currenttrade.isOtherLocked == false)
              {
                  Thread.Sleep(1);
            }
              Thread.Sleep(1);
              RemoveItemFromTrade("Apple");
              PutGoldInTrade(0);
           LockTrade(true);
                  while (currenttrade.IsOtherTradeOk == false)
               {
                   Thread.Sleep(25000);
               }
              ConfirmTrade();
                     }
   }
}

I suggest if you catch anyone attempting to scam you that you report them or block them. And if the GMs for trion are around I suggest you look for a way to break the exploit they are using since it still is ruining the game on many servers.

Preparing for Archeage 2 5 patch for NA

,
We dont exactly know when the 2.5 patch for Archeage will be coming out to the US and the EU but theres a few key changes which will greatly effect the game as well as make some pocket money for us. I figured I would actually share some information rather then just keeping it to myself since lately money hasnt been the real problem for me.

One of the biggest changes is the change to sunken treasure. Right now aside from on many servers most of the hackers taking the chests or the fact that its a battle for any chests which you do manage to find with people trying to kill each other and such. They will be making changes that not only make the spawns random. That meaning instead of being able to use a map to plot spawn locations it will be all random which benefits the hackers more then the player base.  They will also be lowering the amount spawned. Which a good percentage of them right now spawn in locations which its not even possible for us to get anyway since a good portion of them are outside of boundary lines or just can be interacted with.

So I know what your thinking everything I said above sounds like its a bad thing. But lets think of this in terms of the making money. The ship regrading gets cheaper and on top of it they also increase the success of regarding for ship parts too. With less sunken treasure aka less ship component regrade scrolls since people are getting 4 per shipwreck that means the price of regrade scrolls is likely to go up. On the EU they are an average of 98 silver each and on NA usually around 1g 50 silver each. If they cut the spawn amount by half that would mean the whole server may only have a maximum of about 20 or less spawns per 12 hours. Thats been the main source of ship regrade scrolls on the server aside from luscas which also only happens once per day currently. So while we can only guess what the price might be I would say ship component regrade scrolls might go from 1g each to about 3-5g once again like they did before. So hording them will likely make some really good money for a person after the patch rolls in. As well as being able to get better regrade success over all.

Another change which might effect market prices is the lowering of radiant trees and braizers from coin purses. We dont know how much is "slightly reduced" but I would imagine it is enough that you wont be getting as many of them from coin purses.

And the last little bit which I have to add about it is the new accessories from library coinpurses and drops. While we dont exactly know whether these are actually worth a lot. We do know one thing that is rather expensive right now starlight archeum. So even if the new accessories which drop are crap they have to be better then the low level junk ones which have been dropping from all lvl 51 monsters. So this is actually a more valuable thing then the ship component regrades in terms of what to do after 2.5 hits.

But anyhow thats really the main highlights of 2.5 that I wanted to get out there for everyone. The big shipwreck salvaging isnt all that important because i seriously doubt we will be hunting for them if they dont fix the hacking which cant be fixed since cryengine is an open source graphics engine but oh well.

Archeage Review

,
Figured it would be a good idea to write a little review about Archeage since I tried playing the game on the Russian server and then went right out and upgraded to the English alpha. I would have to say the game is totally worth it. Coming from Tera Online and playing that for the past 2 years this game has so many good features which most mmorpgs just dont have and with the cry engine 3 the game is really beautiful.

One of the first things I picked up on is for a game thats in alpha the game is actually really well polished aside from a few small quest bugs here and there or some memory leak crashes here and there the game runs really well without problems. Ive tested the alpha for a lot of games and most usually contain server crashing 24/7 downtimes and such. When they upgraded to 1.2 they had some issues database wise but they where quick to resolve them and get the servers back up.

When you get into the game at first it might not really seem like anything that you havent already seen in a mmorpg but once you hit level 12 and get your glyder the game really opens up for you allowing you to just fly to any location. And also is really useful for finding that hidden ledge to plant trees and sneak farms rather then fighting over space to have a protected farm.
Or you can totally be that bad person going around stealing from other peoples farms. I will be doing some guides in the future about the infamy system and some of the quests you can do to lose infamy. But the one thing that this game is really good for is having many different ways to level up and things to do.
Even the crafting system gives experiance and is more complex then most games but at the same time it was very well planned out. The farming system is just like harvest moon you have to take care of your animals and water your plants and harvest them when they are ready.

If your current game is doing nothing but making you bored Archeage will keep you busy and give you something new and exciting to play. And if you have been playing an action combat game like Tera Online you will still be able to get into Archeages combat cause its very fast paced it doesnt feel like a Wow clone.

But there is one thing Archeage isnt. It isnt the game that you will want to solo in. You are only a small koi fish in a huge fish pond and everything revolves around gathering materials for stuff so if you want a ship you will need other people to work together to obtain things easier.

Archeage Farming Guide

,
How to farm like a boss. This guide will go over some of the basic information about farming and why you would want to go farming not to mention how to take care of your animals and helpful tips you will need to know for farming in archeage.

The first very important thing to note is currently in alpha it doesnt cost anything to plant anything so you can plant as much as you want but harvesting things from your farm will cost labor depending on what your farming. Trees can be anywhere from 15 to 25 labor points per tree so you will find yourself spending quite abit of points per tree. Gathering other things can be 1 to 5 labor depnding on what your gathering. Like for example it only costs 1 point to gather wild crops which are found naturally and contain random seeds for things you might not normally be able to buy from vendors.

The first thing to keep in mind plants have 4 different stages of growth for trees and 3 stages for plants. When they first are planted they are a seedling in which the time counts down until they are ripe to pick. The next stage is when they go from sapling into the young sapling stage this stage is when they evolve into a larger plant for non trees this process can be speeded up by watering but for trees it demands a wait period. Plants usually dont have a 4 they are ready to be picked at this stage then they usually are in the mature plant stage meaning they can be harvested. For trees they go into a young tree phase before going into the fully matured tree phase or fruited stage depending on the type of tree. Trees or plants left for too long a duration have two other phases either the wilted for plants phase or the dead phase for trees. For plants you can fix wilted plants by using fertilizer on them as for dead trees you can only cut them down or gather the fruit and the tree will disappear.

Trees also have another more special phase which can occur during the first 3 stages of growth this is called thunderstruck. Some things to keep in mind many people will try to tell you thunderstruck trees only happen on islands where thunderstorms happen often but this is not true. Thunderstruck trees are an RNG gamble basicly the more trees you have the more chance you have that a tree might get thunderstruck. In Korea they do have a cash shop item which increases chances two trees near each other will get thunderstruck but this so far will most likely not be brought to the North American version of the game. Trees with longer cycles are better to use for thunderstruck trees this is why many people use pine trees the cost per labor is much lower to place these trees and the time for them to get ready is over 2 days long. Fruit trees cannot get thunderstruck so you would want to avoid planting those type of trees. You dont want to be standing ontop of a tree as it gets thunderstruck you can get killed by the tree getting thunderstruck.

Planting trees and plants outside of scarecrow farms and houses will cost you labor points depending on the type of tree or plant but this can be a good alternative if your aiming for thunderstruck trees so you can plant more then 10 trees in a spot but this means that other people can also come and steal your trees so looking for places to hide trees is very important.

How to plant in a space? This can be done by clicking on the seed or sapling this will give you an area highlighted in a light green if you can plant if the plant area is red it means you cant place the plant in that spot either something is blocking you from planting or you are just unable to plant in that spot. Gray dotted lines indicate the space around houses and farms that you can plant in these are protected by you paying taxes and cannot be stolen by other players. Planting outside of safe areas means anyone can take them. When planting on your allied soil other players taking the plants leave footprints which can be reported which give them crime points. When you plant on the enemy faction no footprints will be left when stuff is stolen from you. This is the same when enemy faction steals from your alliance areas.

Rare item drops these currently have no purpose because they havent been implemented as of yet but when they get released and they release the more specialty trade pack system these rare materials will be used to build more expensive and harder to obtain trade packs which will cost more to create.

Watering plants this helps when you are planting many things with long growth periods. Watering plants reduces the growth time for the plant by 10%. Watering most fast growing plants is more of a waste of time but if a plant has long duration you can reduce the time for it to mature by quite awhile.

Climate variation effects plant growth when you plant in the right area for plants they produce more harvested materials and also grow much faster. There are currently 3 different types of climates they are:

Arid
Temperate
Tropical

Arid climate is desert like conditions plants which are not ment to grow in these conditions will enter the wilted stage much more easily or have little to no produce and also enter dead phase much easier.
Temperate climate most plants fall into this catagory this is more just a normal season type condition.
Tropical this is the warm humid type of climate good for plants like banana trees.
Each type of plant you buy from the vendor will tell you what climate it belongs to this way you will know where it grows the most effectively. Growing things in the right locations will make them grow faster and make it more worth it for you in the long run.

Livestock care having different animals can benefit you with other types of material and much like planting caring for animals works similar to planting. After an animal is placed it goes though a growth time in which they will turn into a fully matured animal like for example cows go from a baby stage into a full dairy cow. You will need to feed them combined feed which they go into a thriving state at this point you get the option to milk the cow which will give you milk materials. When you dont take care of them they go into a hungry state and they can die. Cows that are fed but arent harvested for milk can get diseased you need livestock suppliment to get them to go back to being healthy again. Cows which have produced for a long period of time will eventually go into the dead phase and die after being milked and you can also choose to butcher animals for materials like hides and meat as well. Other types of animals can produce male and females and can be breeded to produce more of that animal. Breeding them can be used to train pet versions of different animals. Some animals instead of being milked can be sheered for fur like Yatas, Goats, Sheep these give various different types of crafting materials.

Seed bundles these are created using vocational badges and a farmers workstation these contain a package of seeds which produce more of the harvested type of plant. Seed bundles also give other materials such as worms used for fishing and other crafting items depending on the type of bundle. Seed bundles take up a larger amount of space then planting individual seeds but with how much material you get you would have to plant more then the 10 seeds it costs to make a bundle to get the same amount of materials from them. These also grow much faster and stay alive longer then normal seed plants. They do however have a lower chance to get the rare items from harvesting.

Hidden farms some locations on the map make for extra special places to plant this is because they are either hard to get too or not easy to find by other players while I wont go and tell you all of the locations or teach everything about these locations being a good detective and thinking about sneaky ways to plant things that people wont notice is a great way to have good hidden farms. The picture above is one of the more harder to get to hidden farms and before you go complain about me showing a picture someone already ruined it by making a video of the location. If you dont want places to be found by others dont stream them or video them because people will only go to steal your stuff when they find it.

Archeage is a very fun game and the farming in the game is very interesting it might seem much more advanced and slightly complicated at first but as you get used to the game you will find yourself enjoying these daily tasks even if they might seem slightly frustrating when you have to gather trees every 2 hours when they fruit. Farming produces many materials used for the other activities that you enjoy doing like crafting, fishing, treasure hunting, and trade runs.

Is archeage playable for free to play

,
A lot of people that come into Archeage ask this question regularly and arent really sure whether its possible. I have done some guides on how to make patron and while theres always the option that a free to play player can simply keep a character on all night long to regain labor there are some disadvantages.

One of the first disadvantages is owning land. When you enter the game you get a 8x8 scarecrow for doing some of the very first quests around level 10. You cannot use it without patron even though its giving you taxes and the design. So this kinda tricks the person into thinking they can place it and find out later it cant be placed without patron.

The next thing is everything in game is powered by labor. During alpha you had some fun things like treasure hunting which didnt cost labor. But now the only thing that you can do is dungeons or farming monsters but if you find any gear or try to open coin purses this will cost labor. The game is powered by labor crafting and gathering is labor intensive. Which makes the grind that much harder for free to play players. The only things you can do to make money which cost absolutly no labor is farming certain designs but these are high competition.

Making enough money to actually get patron is still possible but trying to play completely free you wont get super far unless you work really hard. This doesnt mean that the game isnt playable. The game isnt a pay to unlock like SWTOR or doesnt force you to pay a subscription to play the game. And while people might disagree the game isnt pay to win. Yes if you dump enough real money into any game there will be some kind of advantage whether its decreasing time it takes to get things but its impossible to get away completely from these types of things. If it wasnt for the shop the gold farmers would sell the gear which would be much of the same thing.

But that doesnt mean that some things are broken about the game. One being the RNG boxes which are sold in game. In Korea you can buy most of the regrade items for a set number of credits. With the NA servers they have it set so that if you spend 100 dollars the chance of you getting the item you want is still very low. Which means regrades which make a major difference at end game are only for the high rollers. The reason is because they cant be bought for low credit amount we have to rely on a "luck" chance at said items.

The game could be balanced out farther which would make it a little bit more fair to players some things include adding better incentives for patrons such as increasing the labor increase to alpha labor which was 20 per 10 minutes instead of only 10. Right now since the gold farmers can sell gold at a better deal then buying apex for gold the cost of labor has increased so much that normal non pay to play characters are unable to buy labor and make money with said labor.  The labor potions only costed 150 credits when first released but cost 300 right now. Its not worth it for people to buy and sell these either. The only labor potions are the ones bought by loyalty that people still sell. This makes it difficult to obtain them aside from people spending loyalty to sell them.

The people who buy gold from gold spammers will also control the markets on various items which also helps ruin the game. But if trion makes it more worth selling apex then it is to buy gold from gold spammers they will take the game back and recover many things.

At the end of the day I would have to say out of all the other older free to play mmorpgs that actually have decent graphic this is one of the better ones. You have people still play nexon and Conquer Online and many other hardcore pay to win games which even lack the good quality graphics. Archeage has really good pvp and will likely continue to be popular since its one of the ages for more hardcore pvp that we have seen for a long time.

Introduction to Archeage

,
So if you arent someone whos read some of my other gaming blogs I have one for Tera Online and things like Pokemon and so on. But I will be trying the open beta for Archeage and if you have yet to actually see what this game is like it has a lot of really good features which has me interested.

If your new to Archeage this game is a sand box mmorpg. This type of mmorpg means you have a big sandbox to play in without hitting invisible walls and boundries like you do in Tera Online. You can board a ship and sail to the other contient without needing to wait for loading screens.

The games combat system revolves around a fast pace tab target system which isnt as restricting as Final Fantasy 14 and allows you to move while casting spells. Of course its no action combat system but with all the features the game has to offer even though it is a tab target game it doesnt seem like it will end up being boring or drawn out like some of the more current tab target mmorpgs.

The game makes use of the CryEngine 3 for graphics this means beautiful water animations and a very beautiful game play. The game also includes features we find in real life situations like hitting currents in a river or strong wind in the air and the effects of floating or drifting in water making it more fine detail then a game like World Of Warcraft.

One of the most amazing things about this game is that you have the ability to fly using gliders and also build various types of ships and houses. As a sandbox mmorpg you dont have the same restrictions that most mmorpgs do so you wont be flying into invisible walls or driving your ship and getting stuck on invisible walls while your going from continent to continent. And while building houses is restricted by whether you have patron status and whether you pay your taxes you can still farm outside of farm areas and be sneaky about hiding your farm location.

Player vs Player in Archeage has much more purpose because of the trade system. The way the trade system works is the more often items are turned in at trade spots the less money you will get for the trade supplies this makes it much more desirable to travel to enemy nations or locations which have not been turned into for a long time. But players can gank you and steal your trade supplies traveling with guildies ensures that youll be much safter then the person with his two friends driving a fully loaded trade ship to the enemy continent. So people playing this type of game will want to work together with friends to make money instead of running solo. You will be much more likely to see larger guilds instead of games like Tera Online where people roll around in five person guilds.

So incentives for stealing and PvP in Archeage will keep people playing for longer amounts of time. If youve been playing Tera Online this is one thing that really kills the game. No incentives for PvP so once youve played for a few months (contient comes out once every 6 months or more) you spend time grinding the same battlegrounds with no incentives and theres nothing that continues to motivate you to PvP unless your epeen level is just over 9000.

The crafting system in Archeage is pretty extensive and has more then just crafting armors and weapons it also includes cooking and the construction of vehicles and furniture. The system does use the newer labor point system which Tera Online just implemented only it can be leveled up to increase the maximum points unlike Tera which makes you pay for more points or makes you wait until they restore naturally. This way instead of being stuck with a maximum of 4k points on your labor you can level it up to 8,000 or higher the more you use points.

The pet and mount system works more like Pokemon allowing a user to capture monsters equip them with gear and use them in battle. Pets and mounts can die and be ressurected and suffer ressurect debuffs which can be healed at stables. You can also breed animals to use as pets or mounts as well giving many different elements to the game.

Pets and armor:

Im sure some people might be wondering if the game has any mechanics for griefing and the answer is yes. When you kill or steal from other people you get infamy players can choose to report the blood stains from the people you killed or the foot prints of where you stole from there farms this is counted against you. When you finally die you end up in court and the people who reported you are summoned to the court and decide whether your innocent and what your sentance will be. In jail you cannot use skills and even if you escape jail you cant use skills until the jail sentance is over.

Skills in Archeage have a very interesting aspect since they allow someone to mix and match different skills from different classes Ive been told this work like Rift if you have played it but if your like me and havent it sounds more like Final Fantasy 14 in some ways.

Traveling in Archeage is interesting in that aside from different types of ships and also the ability to glide the game also has different types of tractors and car vechicles and also allows a person to build diving equipment to treasure hunt and farm underwater. The game also includes portals as well for quick movement giving players pretty good flexiblity to get around the world very easily.

The game could easily be the next large scale title to catch peoples interests especially being a free to play mmorpg. Since Tera has started to go on the pay to win advantages and Blade & Soul will never be released to NA servers. Meanwhile we have WildStar which is Wow 2.0 great for carebear communities. Archeage is a mature game and so far it seems like it will be much more mature then how Tera Online got watered down. So we can still have our eye candy even if we cant have elins.

But for me and my guild we will be enjoying the pirate faction and if you havent seen any good pirate videos then I have one which will make you want to check the game out. And if you end up wanting to play archeage with me you know how you can contact me either on google, comment below or email me.

Archeage Gold Guide

,
Making gold in archeage is one of the most important tasks that you will need to accomplish. The game includes quite a few gold sinks such as the crafting system which not only will hit your wallet for archeum dust and crystals but also costs you just gold for the regrade system. So today Im gonna go over some of the methods to make money which are used by a lot of people and then Ill go over some of the unknown methods as well.

One of the biggest methods in game for making money is the pack running while this method costs quite a bit of labor in terms of gathering materials required and then crafting the pack its also still quite rewarding to run packs. The higher commerce you have leveled the less labor at the cost per crafted pack. As well a chance for successful deals being made which will add on more money. One of the most ideal runs at least for beginners is the rookborne pack. It baffles me why many people choose to not run this pack in servers. The materials cost to run the pack consists of either the following:

30 figs 50 chopped produce
15 orchard puree 10 milk

Both of these packs are very easy to make considering chopped produce is usually very cheap on the auction house you can buy it off other players or craft it from cucumbers fast if you dont mind the labor costs associated. And figs are easy to come by since they produce more fruit every 2 hours. Even a small amount of figs are more of a curse then a blessing cause you will need to keep picking all the time. The milk can be accomplished by cows or a cow pen which also gives fertalizer used for making eco friendly fuel. You have an option with that to either sell the fuel which sells for some decent gold or use it to make your tractor runs faster.

Rookborne packs are 9g 77 silver on average when at 130% and because you only need to use the mountain pass to get up and get into falcorth plains its a run that usually takes about 2-5 minutes by donkey and about 10-15 with a tractor. You will need to at least have backdrop from shadowplay, teleport from auramancy in order to get up the mountain pass. You can get up using the location in the screenshots below:

And for the people that want to run tractors since it allows you to run 7 packs at a time instead of only one at a time the following screenshots:

 This picture above shows that with the larger cart the 4 pack cart or the 6 pack cart we need to drive backwards to get over this spot in the mountain to avoid getting stuck.
 We can drive normal from this point.
 At this point we will get stuck cause its a mountain ledge but dont worry we just need to owners mark and dismount.
 We will need to cast riders escape in order to get our cart to a place we can drive away at.
 Your cart must be less then 20 meters away you can see by viewing the hp bar for the cart and looking at distance in meters.
 Our cart respawns at the bottom after skill usage
 We keep driving right down the mountain.
 We turn left to avoid getting stuck as the path turns different directions.
 Turn right for this spot and continue driving.
 We exit the mountain and watch for patrol so we dont get killed.
 This spot is a second one for another patrol so becareful.
 Now we have clear driving to our location from this spot.
The more runs you do the lower the pack prices will get as well as the more people running them. Late times or early morning might have little to no one running packs. We can check prices in game using the trade information under vocation tab on the bottom right corner.

We can also use the same method during peace times to run trade packs into rookborne as well as if we have land in rookborne we can run them to our property and wait for peace. This makes it much faster then most trade packs as well as more money.

Another trade pack which is valuable is packs from Windscour Savannah. Those packs when taken to ynystere are 15 gold because of the distance. Cheese packs to Ynystere are 20 gold the only thing to keep in mind with those packs is avoid getting killed since both maps are pvp and also the time it takes to run them. The distance for more gold means more driving. And as most people would agree time is money.

Most people usually prefer to do international trade runs for charcoal to make money. The reason being is charcoal is needed in a lot of crafting. So usually charcoal itself sells for quite a lot of money. Usually between 80 silver to 1 gold or more. Normal packs usually run from about 9 charcoal up too 17 charcoal. Specialty packs are usually 15 to 19 depending on where they have been run from and cheese packs are usually over 20 depending on the distance run. While these packs contain more danger since you need to go across pvp zones out in the water even in the event you lose the pack you will see more reward then losing one in a pvp zone for gold since you will still get 3 to 5 charcoal or more.

Aside from just selling charcoal another method which will depend on the prices in your server theres the option of turning charcoal into crafting materials such as the following:

Wind Spirit Leather
Fine Leather
Viscous Glossy Oil
Opaque Polish
Sturdy Ingots
Small Seed Oil
Fine Lumber
Small Root Pigment

These are just some of the examples and depending on your server some of them might not be worth making. But a lot of times the demand of the items is much higher and people are lazy or would rather spend money instead of extra labor to craft these items. This is where you come in. By taking the time to craft them you can make even more money and increase profits of what you would get out of the charcoal by selling an item which might only cost a few extra silver and makes you 4 to 5 gold or more tripling profit. Sometimes its even a good deal to buy charcoal and turn it into these materials if the price is high enough on the turn out rate.

Another really good way to make money is by consumables the reason being is during pvp and pve situation having a full stock of consumables is the way to win any situation. You can craft different food and drink to increase mana and recover during combat. Some of these items include the following:

Kingdoms Heart
Spellbook: Brick Wall
Spellbook: Unstoppable Force
Nuis Nova
Ancient Library Relic
Krakens Might
Hardy Soup
Tangy Soda
Deluxe Sandwich

All of the above are a must for most people who pvp or do pve dungeons. So these will always be in high demand unless the server your playing on has a bunch of noobs which know nothing about the game. So they will need these items and likely pay money though the auction house to obtain them.

Another good way is making the rank 3 items potions and food since many people leveling usually run out of food by the time that rank 3 or 4 levels are hit. Low level quests give food up to around 30 or so and then the quests stop giving food which then requires the user to start buying food from the auction house and from other players.

With 1.7 coming out soon fishing will also have newer more valuable uses including needing to be 90k to do the ice fishing which gets added as well as fishing contests which give some pretty valuable items. Fishing currently makes decent money in terms of how much labor is required to turn profit over.

Selling cow pens and beehives are another really good way to make money but keep in mind the cost of materials ive seen plenty of stupid people post cow pens for like 15g when it costs 20 gold to actually craft them. I end up having to buy them all out then list them higher and turning out profit on them.

Maxing out professions like logging since houses will always need wood or stone as well as crafting which always needs a big supply of wood as well. Stone is a big seller as well as some of the higher level stone products in order to go inside some of the new dungeons and crafting the vehicless. High logging also makes rubber which is used for car tires they require a lot so you can usually sell them for 15g on average. If people are selling lower then that its likely they dont understand they can make more. Aspen hardwoods are used for beehives and so are lake dawn essences from fishing both can sell really well and make a person alot of money.

Another money maker is south of fredrich there are old vases and chests. The chests require killing 2 star elites for keys while the old vases dont really require anything aside from labor and a short cooldown. While the old vases have been nerfed because there is a cooldown which has been added do to all the botters using these to farm money they still give 1 to 2g on average of vendor items. The chests can contain a relic trade pack which can sell for 5g to 100g but costs the same labor of a trade pack so its more of a gamble labor wise whether you will make a good amount or not.

For the most part making money in archeage is pretty straight forward you can even play the gambling game with the RNG boxes from the shop and make some decent money. Atleast much more then most games ive played since lucky sunpoints bring in 3k gold on average in most servers and lucky red regrade charms bring in about 700g on average. While it is a gamble and you never know what will be pulled out. I will say I have had some decent luck with them. So I wont go and tell you that they are useless cause that isnt true.

Hidden dungeons and Things to do in Archeage

,
So while I download the next update for alpha today I wanted to touch on some more experiences that Ive noticed playing Archeage. As if the game wasnt fun enough playing with some of my favorite guild members. So its easier to just list some of the interesting things which are less common knowledge about the game.

  • Treasure Hunting
  • Hidden Dungeons
  • Pet Capturing and Raising
  • Mount Skills and Level Up
  • Hidden Islands
  • Hidden Quests and Dungeons
So lets start with treasure hunting Im pretty sure this one isnt really well advertised for the game so the object of this is to search the ocean floor looking for sunken treasure you actually need to craft items from leatherworking to make airbags to float the treasure to the surface just like what would be done in a real excavation. The ocean covers a very large amount of area so this means you can search very far distances looking for these sunken treasures and many of the materials are used in more difficult recipes for different designs in game. So we are talking about a great way to make money as well.

Hidden dungeons when we talk about this one might think yeah but all dungeons are eventually found but hidden dungeons in Archeage are a little different. The story quests dont actually make you go to hidden dungeons. These are actually dungeons which you more or less stumble apon while your questing. Like the first and only one that I found I went down this tunnel cause I saw this quest marker and when I got to the bottom the npc disappeared on me and just before I went to leave the location it appeared again which gave me just a simple quest. Though I noticed this locked door called royal chambers and I asked the guild if it was a dungeon no one knew anything so I left it. Then the next day I saw trions stream about possible hidden dungeons and it made me think what if that was one of them. So I started killing some of the monsters and getting peices of cursed armor. At the bottom of the lake I found a place to actually purify the peices of armor and then found a npc asking for you to solve the puzzle of the royal tomb which gave me a key to unlock the door. The door wasnt instanced and so some of my guildies went in with me but what we didnt realize is that the dungeon is multi-floor so one key wasnt enough it was still a very fun experience. I actually walked into a room and aggroed the first boss and everything in the room like a derp and almost got us all killed but it was a lot of fun. And Im sure there are many more dungeons just like that one that you can stumble apon.

Pet capturing and raising similar to that of Pokemon. You do get some starting pets during the quest line close to level 30 or so but you can also catch many of the world bosses and use them as pets. And then pet leveling also. Pets get skills with every few levels up they get depending on the pet the skills will be different. For example the donkey learns skills that increase pack carrying and learns an attack skill for charging at enemies. Caring for pets is easy you only have to feed them give them water and amuse them while your raising them into pets but once that is complete the only thing you will need to worry about is your pet dieing. Pets can be healed using the stablehand if they die during combat.

Hidden islands even though you have a world map which shows locations and contients many locations are not on the map and while you are sailing around you can run into many small islands which can be built on or people can hide farms on. These add to the more realistic feel to the game just as if you where exploring the ocean and the possiblity of running into islands.

Hidden quests and dungeons many locations contain hidden spots across the world for the people that like going and getting every single achivement possible similar to WoWs achivement system but some are simply having the right items on yourself to trigger a npc to talk to you or just finding a hidden quest npc which gives clues to some story. These can unlock dungeons as well which are not tied into the storyline and these dungeons are not "instanced" meaning that as soon as you and your guild unlocks them anyone can travel into them. That also means that if they are located near enemy faction they can kill you as well as pirates or if your in a flagged zone you can get killed by your own faction. They can drop a vary of different things to secret designs for some of the more difficult ships such as the black pearl pirate ship or various items for making things.
